World Youth Day in Sydney

World Youth Day in Sydney, the largest youth event in the world, is going to be held in Sydney from the 15th to the 20th of July, 2008. This day is marked by a
week-long series of events, attended by the Pope and hundreds of thousands
of young people from all over the world.

Those attending will be accommodated in hotels, backpacker accommodation and in homestays.

What does this mean for students in Sydney?

We hope that there will be no effect on our students, but it is good to be
prepared.

• Students who are due to arrive in Sydney between 10th to 22nd July are
  encouraged to book their travel and accommodation well in advance.
• Many students book homestay for 4 weeks and then extend. If they need toextend during this period, it may be difficult.
• Those students who are thinking of extending their stay should be advised to do so without delay.
• For those arriving at Sydney airport around 10th to 22nd July, there may
  be some delays.
